Restoration & Insulation of Ahmed Younes Seif El-Din Farm Roof

EMC carried out the restoration and insulation of the roof at Ahmed Younes Seif El-Din Farm in Seif El-Din, El-Zarqa, Damietta, covering a total area of 745 m². The project aimed to rehabilitate the deteriorated metal roof and provide a high-performance thermal and waterproof insulation system that protects the structure from water infiltration and harsh weather conditions while extending its service life.

Scope of Work

  • Removal of accumulated debris from the roof surface.
  • Complete cleaning and washing of the roof.
  • Replacement of deteriorated metal sheets.
  • Riveting and securing the newly installed metal sheets.
  • Surface sanding and preparation.
  • Application of a Zinc-Rich Primer to protect against corrosion.
  • Spray application of 3 cm (±5 mm) polyurethane foam insulation.
  • Application of a UV-resistant acrylic protective coating

Case Study

The Challenge

The metal roof suffered from severe corrosion, deteriorated metal sheets, multiple openings, and accumulated debris, which reduced its efficiency and increased the risk of water leakage.

The Solution

The roof was fully rehabilitated by removing debris, replacing damaged metal sheets, treating corrosion with a zinc-rich primer, and installing a 3 cm (±5 mm) polyurethane foam insulation system finished with a UV-resistant acrylic protective coating.

The Result

The polyurethane foam insulation system significantly improved the roof’s thermal and waterproof performance, helping to reduce heat transfer through the roof by up to 90% and lower cooling energy consumption by up to 30%, depending on the building type and operating conditions. The system also provides long-term protection against water leakage, weather exposure, and UV radiation, extending the roof’s service life.
