UPVC Roof Thermal & Waterproofing Project – UGDC

EMC carried out thermal and waterproofing works for UPVC roofing at United Gas Derivatives Company (UGDC) in Port Said, for Marvel Contracting & Supplies, covering a total area of 780 m².

The works included surface preparation and treatment of joints, connections, and fixing points, followed by spray application of Polyurethane Foam across the entire area to form a continuous insulation layer that helps reduce heat transfer and water ingress.

Scope of Work

  • Inspection of the roof and identification of joints and connection points.

  • Inspection of roof fixing and fastening areas.

  • Surface preparation before insulation application.

  • Treatment of joints, openings, and vulnerable areas.

  • Preparation of Polyurethane Foam spraying equipment and materials.

  • Spray application of Polyurethane Foam across the entire roof area.

  • Insulation of joints, connections, and fixing points.

  • Formation of a continuous thermal and waterproofing layer.

  • Verification of consistent foam coverage across the roof.

  • Final inspection and handover.

Case Study

The Challenge

The main challenge was the roof configuration and the presence of multiple joints, connections, and fixing points that could create paths for heat transfer and water ingress, combined with direct exposure to solar radiation and weather conditions.

The Solution

The roof was prepared and its joints, connections, and vulnerable areas were treated before Polyurethane Foam was spray-applied across the entire surface, including fixing and connection points, to create a continuous thermal and waterproofing layer.

The Result

A continuous insulation layer was formed across the UPVC roofing, joints, and connection areas, helping reduce heat transfer and water ingress while improving roof protection against weather exposure.
