Metal Roof Insulation Project – Warehouse G | Arma Detergents & Soap Company

EMC carried out the thermal and waterproof insulation works for a newly constructed metal roof at Warehouse G of Arma Detergents & Soap Company using a Polyurethane Foam (PU Foam) insulation system as part of a comprehensive roof protection solution for the industrial facility.

The project began with thorough surface preparation, including cleaning the roof and removing dust and debris, followed by riveting and fastening works to ensure structural stability before insulation. A 30 mm (±5 mm) layer of Polyurethane Foam was then spray-applied, followed by a UV-resistant acrylic protective coating. In addition, the roof drainage channel was reinforced and waterproofed using a polyester system reinforced with fiberglass mesh, providing extra protection for the areas most exposed to water accumulation.

Scope of Work

  • Complete cleaning of the metal roof and removal of dust and debris.
  • Riveting and fastening works to ensure roof stability.
  • Spray application of 30 mm (±5 mm) Polyurethane Foam for thermal and waterproof insulation.
  • Application of a UV-resistant acrylic protective coating.
  • Waterproofing of the drainage channel using a polyester system reinforced with fiberglass mesh.

Case Study

The Challenge

The main challenge was reinforcing and securing sections of the newly installed metal roof to ensure full structural stability before applying the insulation system. In addition, the drainage channel required a specialized waterproofing solution to eliminate potential leakage points and ensure the long-term performance of the insulation system.

The Solution

The metal roof was fully prepared through cleaning, fastening, and riveting works to create a stable substrate for the insulation system. A high-performance Polyurethane Foam insulation system specifically designed for metal roofs was then applied, followed by a UV-resistant acrylic protective coating to enhance durability and weather resistance.

To provide additional protection in water-prone areas, the drainage channel was waterproofed using a polyester system reinforced with fiberglass mesh, ensuring long-term resistance against water infiltration.

The Result

The project successfully delivered a complete insulation system using Polyurethane Foam with an acrylic protective coating, providing high-performance thermal and waterproof insulation through a seamless, joint-free layer that minimizes heat transfer and prevents water leakage. The system can also contribute to energy savings of up to 30–40% in air-conditioned buildings, depending on operating conditions. Additionally, it offers long-term protection against UV rays and harsh weather conditions, reduces condensation, extends the service life of the metal roof, and minimizes future maintenance requirements.
